#06 TRANSCRIPTOR HYDRAULIC REFERENCE

#6 has a square fuse box with fixed fuse position and a plug in connector for voltage selection. Note also the earlier belt guide as used with the Dry Pitch # 2,9 and HR #16 and 18. And a one piece round bent side strip. Platter has oblique edge.

#08 MICHELL

#8 is an early Michell, note the three feet instead of the later brackets.

#1 TRANSCRIPTOR DRY PITCH

#1 An early “dry-pitch” Reference, 3 platter weights, no fuse-box, speed selector/belt guide by means of two horizontal plates, plastic pulley, and different, upright mounted strobe light. This one has a total different chassis (white underneath) which is appr. ½ cm thicker. Side-strip in one piece, bent.

#10 MICHELL 'THE BRONZE'

#10, the Bronze, is one of our colored projects. Note the bronze platter and mirrored upper motordeck and arm mounting plate. It was almost over the top, literally, as we had to put the arm in the highest possible position in order to work with the acryl damping platter on top.

#11 TRANSCRIPTOR HYDRAULIC REFERENCE

#11 falls probably just in the transition between Gammon / Michell as it has a Michell print, but Transcriptor badge. The Italian sticker on bottom indicates it was produced before aug 74. Has a different belt guide (eye) which might be taken (much later) from a Michell Focus to replace original.

#12 MICHELL

#12 also an early Michell, as shown by the three feet instead of the later brackets. This one has been extradited to Belgium, with the first set of LED posts in the holes for sweeparm and needlebrush, beginning of June 17.

#13 TRANSCRIPTOR HYDRAULIC REFERENCE

#13 falls also in the transition phase between Gammon / Michell, it has a Michell tag from 73, normally the letters represent the month (A=jan, L=dec) but this one starts with M.Platter seems to be a different material, coating of the platterweights is different, more silvery than gold.Lid is badged 71 HiFi show, not sure whether lid has been replaced, or if HiFi badges have been used long afterwards.Belt guide is later type with 2 pins. No fuse box.

#14 MICHELL ELECTRONIC REFERENCE

#14 This is a Michell Electronic Refernce in the Hydraulic version, from after 1977, only difference is that it has inverted, tapering platter weights on the platter, probably to provide better surface contact with the record.

#15 MICHELL HYDRAULIC REFERENCE

#15 A fairly regular Michell Hydraulic Reference, be it that , according to the tag which says L78, it was produced in December 1978, about one year after the Technical Agreement was revoked

#16 TRANSCRIPTOR HYDRAULIC REFERENCE

#16 also appears to be an older type due to the belt guide with two plates and no fuse box, motor deck plate seems to be more solid material,platter has oblique rim on side, notice also the one piece square bent sidestrip.

#18 TRANSCRIPTOR DRY PITCH-HYDRAULIC REFERENCE

#18 seems to be related to the early dry pitch. Came unbadged with a capstan that runs through the strobewheel with felt pad and nut on top, the particular strobewheel missing. Had a donut as well, so we used it as a HR. The other strobelight is consistent with the ones used on the other dry pitch # 2 and 9.Has also the belt guide with the two plates.

#2 TRANSCRIPTOR DRY PITCH

#2 Another early “dry-pitch ”Reference, 3 platter weights, no fuse-box, speed selector/ belt guide by means of two horizontal plates, plastic pulley and different, upright mounted strobe light. This one has the regular chassis.

3 TRANSCRIPTOR HYDRAULIC REFERENCE

#3 Hydraulic Reference with a square fuse-box, outfitted with a 9” Fluid arm.

#4 TRANSCRIPTOR HYDRAULIC REFERENCE

#7 MICHELL TRANSROTOR

7 This is a bit of a mystery to us. It concerns a Michell badged as Transrotor, has been made after 1977 but uses the three feet instead of the (by then) regular brackets in front and back.
